What is naturalization?

Naturalization” is just a fancy way of saying “act as if what you want is natural for you to have.” This takes “fake it ’til you make it” to the next level because, when using this practice, you are no longer reaching and hoping for something.

The concepts of “the law of attraction” and “manifestation” are becoming increasingly more popular every day. It’s more and more common for us to hear people say, “I’m attracting this into my life,” or “go ahead and manifest that!” Unfortunately, it’s also common to hear, “law of attraction? Please, that doesn’t work. What, I’m supposed to have a thought that I’m going to win a million bucks and then it will instantly appear in my life?” Well, that’s not how it works. At all. These concepts work when there is a clear and purposeful mindset change paired with mindful practices and consistency. We’ll get into what these are in a little bit. For now, let’s see how naturalization works.

How does naturalization work?

Here’s the thing, if you put out energy that you want something, you are simultaneously telling the universe that you don’t have it. This creates separation and makes it more difficult for you to have what you want. Could you still have what you want? Sure, eventually, it’s possible. But, the path to your goal may be longer and perhaps more difficult due to the energetic separation. Why? Because by energetic law, the universe, or universal energy, mirrors our energy. I’m going to say that again, according to energetic law, universal energy mirrors our energy. What we put out (our thoughts, feelings, words, etc.) is given right back to us.

For example, when you use words such as “want” or “waiting,” the universe will mirror that by keeping you in a state of “wanting” or “waiting.” On the flip side, when you use words such as “have” or “am”, you are sending energetic vibrations out that you have something and the universe will work to make that happen. By using words like “have” or “am”, you are creating a sense of normalcy – you’re making it natural for you to have what you want. You are claiming what is already yours. This essentially opens you up to receive abundance from the flow of the universe. This then creates an energy of being receptive because there is no separation between what you have and what you want (even if you don’t have it yet). By telling the universe that you “already have” what it is that you desire, the universe will then give you “more” of that purely due to energetic law.

How do I practice naturalization?

MINDSET SHIFTS & INTERNAL DIALOGUE

Mini story time. Recently, I was talking to someone about mindfulness and they asked me, “so what exactly is mindfulness?” I thought about it for a moment, and responded, “mindfulness is about our mindset.” Think about it, mindfulness, mindset – they both have mind in it. It’s not a coincidence. Sure, there are many different “mindfulness practices” available to us to help us become more mindful (i.e., meditation journaling, yoga, breathing techniques, and so forth), and they all have their place and purpose. But, it’s important not to rely solely on those practices and ignore the biggest factor of them all – our mindset and our internal dialogue.

Take a moment to reflect on the little voice inside your head. What does is say? Does it say, “I’m a rockstar, I’m living the life of my dreams, I got this!” Or, does it say something more like “I really want to quit my job because I hate it so much, but I’m afraid that I won’t find another job and I don’t want to fail so I’ll just stay here.” Those are two very different mindsets! One mindset is not only more positive and confident, but it is actively practicing naturalization by creating their ideal life through their thoughts. The other mindset is stuck in a fear-based mentality and is telling the universe that they are perfectly happy where they are – thus, that person is more likely to stay exactly where the are, due to energetic law.

It’s very important to be strategic with the thoughts you think. Instead of saying things such as, “I wish” or “I want”, shift your thoughts to say things like “I am” or “I have.” Even saying things like, “I’m manifesting, I’m working towards this,” or “I’m trying to” still tell the universe that you don’t have what it is you want and it is more likely to keep you in a place of want. Instead, change your internal dialogue to say things like, “I’ve met my goals of…” or “I’m so grateful that I have…”. It’s a “dress for the job you want” type of mentality. Remember energetic law – the universe is a mirror and will only give you what you emanate.

It may seem or feel weird at first, but keep doing it anyway. It will become natural to you, just as it is natural for you to have what is already yours. If you combine mindset shifts and internal dialogue with your choice of mindfulness practices, you’re sure to experience strong growth and transformations in your life. With that said, let’s take a look at how you can use meditation and journaling to practice naturalization, too.

MEDITATION & JOURNALING

Naturalization fits very well into your meditation and journaling practices.

During meditation, as you align your energy and elevate your vibration, you’ll find yourself in a state of peace. In that peaceful state, create the vibration, or energy, that what you want is already yours and that it’s natural for your to have more of it. This can be done with your thoughts and emotions. Think the thoughts you would have and feel the emotions you would have if you have already met your goals. (Emotions are super powerful, yet super underrated! They can be a strong driving force behind any manifestation practice). Be open and receptive to the flow of energy and abundance. And just sit there absorbing that energy. Everything you want is already yours, you just have to allow it to come to you.

One of the strongest ways you can practice naturalization when journaling is through something called scripting. Scripting is a practice where you write down the events that happened that day. The catch? You’re not writing about the day you actually had. Instead, you’re writing about the type of day you want to manifest – your ideal day where you have already achieved what it is that you desire. For example, if you want to be an entrepreneur but you’re still working your 9-5 job, you would journal as if you were already an entrepreneur and write about the daily events and activities that you would do as an entrepreneur.

YOUR PHYSICAL SURROUNDINGS

Do not underestimate the power that your environment has on your life. Your environment is a key player in the development of your life and what path(s) you go down. Why? It’s been proven time and time again that the energy of your environment affects your personal energy. You’ve heard the saying, “you are who your friends are,” right? That saying comes from the understanding that you pick up the habits, mindsets and lifestyles of those who you share your life with. The same exact concept applies to your environment. You pick up the habits, mindsets and lifestyles of the environment you surround yourself with. Therefore, you want to make sure that you surround yourself with an environment that matches that of your goals. This includes, but is not exclusive to, geographical location, the look and energy of said location, and the people you surround yourself with.

For example, if your goal is to be an entrepreneur, you wouldn’t surround yourself with people who are not working to improve themselves at all. You would surround yourself with like-minded people and people who are already entrepreneurs (or actively working to become one). You would also go to places where entrepreneurs work, and bring your laptop and work there. Your daily routines, mindsets and habits would reflect that of an entrepreneur, too. Side note: you would also maintain a clean, clear, clutter-free, productive and useful environment – but, more on that later.

What are some ways you plan on practicing (or already practice!) naturalization? What are some of your goals?
