Description
What Is This?
Educators’ nervous systems are under constant demand. Between managing classrooms, supporting students’ social and emotional needs, navigating administrative pressures, and handling their own personal and historical stress, educators rarely have the space to return to a regulated state. Chronic stress, emotional overload, and unresolved personal and childhood experiences leak into daily professional life, making nervous system regulation feel impossible at times.
Everyday Regulation is a digital deck of 150+ nervous system regulation cards, paired with a detailed guidebook, created specifically for educators. The cards provide practical, visual, and tactile strategies that can be applied immediately in the classroom, staff meetings, transitions, or personal moments of overwhelm. The strategies are organized into five categories, Somatic Practices, Sensory Support, Inner World, Relational Dynamics, and Energy & Sustainable Systems, to address not only the body and senses, but also cognitive load, emotional patterns, relationships, and systemic stressors that accumulate throughout the day.
Why This Exists:
Educators should not have to survive their careers. Yet, chronic burnout, emotional overload, and constant activation have become normalized. Many educators are carrying the emotional weight of their own personal histories, which intersects with the emotional demands of students, colleagues, and school systems. Traditional regulation tools such breathe, ground, pause only address part of the picture. They do not address the underlying patterns, relational dynamics, or systemic stressors that keep educators’ nervous systems constantly activated.
This deck was created to fill that gap. It helps educators recognize when their nervous systems are dysregulated, understand why, and take steps to return to steadiness without adding extra tasks, judgment, or pressure.

What Makes This Different?
Alongside common somatic and sensory practices, Everyday Regulation addresses the deeper, less discussed aspects of regulation for educators:
- Sustainable Systems: Structures in daily routines, personal habits, and professional environments that reduce cognitive load, decision fatigue, and ongoing nervous system activation.
- Inner World Awareness: Patterns like people-pleasing, over-assuming responsibility for others’ emotions, over-sharing, blurred boundaries, and how past experiences shape present reactions – all viewed through a nervous system lens.
- Relational Dynamics: Recognition of emotional contagion, mirror neurons, emotional immaturity, narcissistic patterns, and relational safety, and how these factors directly influence an educator’s ability to stay regulated.
All strategies are presented with concrete, real-life examples so educators can see how they manifest in classrooms, meetings, or personal moments of stress.
The Heart of the Work
These cards and guidebook are designed to be within sight, within mind, and within reach. They serve as constant, accessible reminders that regulation is not a separate activity or task to check off.
Instead, they help educators nourish the human behind the role by supporting steadiness, awareness, and calm while navigating real-life classrooms and professional systems. Regulation becomes part of daily flow, helping educators reclaim clarity, presence, and resilience without adding to the workload.
