A Brief Introduction

There are two types of people in this world – people who choose to live a life of peace and joy (yes, it is a decisionnot something you’re randomly gifted with) and people who don’t. Take a look around you. Turn on the news. Open your phone and scroll through social media. The vast majority (over 98% of people) are easily agitated, impulsive, judgmental, negative, fearful, and inauthentic. Furthermore, most people do not take the time to learn more about themselves or improve themselves. Instead, they choose to chase the next shiny thing presented in front of them, instead of choosing a life of peace and joy.

But you see, there is good news here. Autonomy. You have self-agency, power to create your own life. You can choose to live a live of peace and joy or anger and fear. We can start this by being honest with ourselves, why we are where we are, and then using the power of energy and vibration to change our reality.

To put it plainly, we are energy – all of us. All physical matter (all animals, plants and inanimate objects) is energy. Even more than that, everything holds a distinct energetic vibration. To the human eye, it may appear that the physical objects around us are 100% solid, such as the seat you’re sitting on or the electronic device you’re using. However, not only is every physical object is made up of energy, but every physical object has a certain energetic vibration to it. Every physical object is actually composed of mostly empty space as it is made up of particles that bounce back and forth to each other, thus creating the illusion of solid mass. In fact, if you took all of the humans on the planet and removed all of the empty space within each physical object, the resulting mass would fit in a very dense sugar cube.

Are you still there or have I lost you already? I can’t help but to geek out over this stuff! Okay, okay… let’s get right down to business now and check out the Map of Consciousness below. (Credit for this chart goes to David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D., an internationally renowned psychiatrist, physician, researcher, and spiritual teacher).

Understanding the Vibration & Emotion Spectrum

The Map of Consciousness (above) is key to helping us understand the connections between energy, emotions, vibrational frequencies, expansion, and contraction. Take a look at the left side of the Map of Consciousness, there you’ll see hertz (unit of frequency). Hertz is highest at the top and lowest at the bottom. You can also see some higher frequency energies at the top, such as enlightenment, peace, joy, love, reason, acceptance, and willingness. At the bottom you can see some lower frequency energies, such as shame, guilt, apathy, grief, fear, desire, anger, and pride. You can also see (from the hertz amount as well as the visual of the cone and the labels on the right of the image) how the emotions towards the top are higher vibrational emotions and promote expansion. And you can see how the emotions towards the bottom are lower vibrational emotions and promote contraction.

You might be thinking to yourself – what does this “expansion” and “contraction” mean for my emotions and energy? Well, let’s put it this way – how does your body feel when you are experiencing peace versus when you’re experiencing fear? When you experience peace, your body is physically relaxed and open, you may enjoy deeper breaths, and you can feel a sense of freedom – this means that you’re experiencing energetic expansion in your body. But, when you experience fear, your body is physically tense and closed off, you may take shorter and more shallow breaths, and you can feel a sense of restriction – this means that you’re experiencing energetic contraction in your body.

The thing is, our bodies are not meant to experience contraction. We operate best when we experience expansion. I do not suggest to suppress any “lower vibrational” emotions, at all. We feel them for a reason. Rather, we need to process and release them so we can go back to living from a higher vibration.
